Weekday range access
Use the range Monday through Friday — outside public hours. Members carry a key and sign-in protocol.
Guests shoot free
Bring friends and family to the range as your guests at no charge. You’re responsible for them on the line.
Voting rights
A voice at monthly meetings (1st Wednesday, 7pm at the VFW in Waterbury). Voting on board elections opens after your probationary first year.
Dues & don'ts.
Annual dues run January to December. A separate initiation fee and background-check fee are due at your application interview — amount varies and is set at the time you apply.

A separate initiation fee and background-check fee are due in cash at your application interview. The amount is variable and confirmed when applications open — it covers your background check, orientation, and key issue.
We've been a member-run association since 1989. Membership is open — not invitation-only — but it does come with expectations. We expect you to know the rules, shoot safely, work two RSO shifts per quarter, and pitch in around the property.
In return you get the range to yourself on weekdays, guests on for free, and a voice at monthly meetings — first Wednesday of every month, 7:00 pm at the VFW in Waterbury. Voting rights on board elections kick in once you complete your probationary first year. Public shoots stay open to anyone — your dues help keep them that way.

Come shoot with us on a public Saturday or Sunday before anything else — pay the public rate, bring your gear, and get a feel for the range and the folks who run it. There’s no commitment, and honestly it’s the best way to know the Rock is the right fit for you.

We open applications in rounds rather than on a fixed schedule, so there’s no endless waitlist to sit on. When a window opens, the application link goes right up here on this page — and following us on Facebook and Instagram is the quickest way to catch the heads-up.
Apply online.
The form itself is short and online. You’ll authorize a standard background check — and no, you don’t need an existing member to vouch for you. Anyone’s welcome to apply on their own. Once it’s in, the timeline below takes over.
From apply to key in hand.
The whole process is built around our monthly meetings — first Wednesday of the month, 7pm. Here’s how the timing falls into place.
Application
Submit your application online during an open window. Once it’s in, we’ll reach out to schedule your interview at an upcoming meeting.
Interview & background check
Bring a photo ID and your pistol permit for a short, friendly interview at the meeting. Afterward, we run a standard background check while your application is reviewed.
Introduce & vote
At the next meeting you’ll introduce yourself to the membership, and members vote on your acceptance that night.
Training
Once you’re voted in, complete two training shifts with an RSO before the next monthly meeting.
Key & badge issued
Your membership badge and range key are handed over at that meeting. Welcome to High Rock — you’re official.
